Ripe follows Claire, Elisabeth and the worlds they navigate together after meeting on New Years Eve on the streets of Sydney.
One has just left high school, home and her mother’s judgement for a life with a man who won’t pick up the phone. The other knows the city down to its plumbing, people down to their darkness and has theorised her world down to it’s molecules.
It’s a surreal and sensory exploration of the relationships with those who can cut to your core and the safety to be found outside of comfort zones.

Ripe is a duologue between two characters on the night they met. In a text that presents a rich and textured world, our process was to strip and investigate the connection between these characters as they navigate the night together.
I see Ripe as a story about both intimacy and autonomy, how and why they manifest. The freedom in choosing for yourself and the opportunity in sharing with another. Balancing the strength you possess when you feel invincible with the strength you possess in your most vulnerable moments.
